For these session we are looking for people who:
- have young children or are currently expecting a child
- or have experience of Sure Start Maternity Grant.
- If you are unsure whether this applies to you, please let us know and we can clarify.
If this applies to you, we are really keen to have your feedback on this to make sure the process works well.
These will be individual feedback session where you can try out the new application process for Best Start Grant maternity payments. Best Start Grant is a one-off payment to help families on a low income meet the costs of having a baby. It will replace the Sure Start Maternity Grant for people who live in Scotland.
There is more information on this research in the attached information sheet. You will not have to do any preparation ahead of taking part and there are no right or wrong answers. We will have a qualified childcare professional available to help at the session if you would like to use it.
There are three choices of dates this summer and you are invited to book a time at one of them:
19 July 2018, Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow,
8 August 2018, Radisson Blu Hotel,
22 August 2018, Norton Park,
If these dates don’t suit you, please let us know and we speak to you about alternative arrangements.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided. The sessions will be held in accessible venues, and please let us know if you have any other needs when you book onto the event.

Can I claim expenses?
Yes, you can claim travel, subsistence and any additionally incurred receipted expenses (including childcare and a soft placy session). We would ask that you keep any receipts. Refreshments will be provided at all sessions.
